Sometimes you need a little help from a friend.

Guides are not only great to get you onto that fish of a lifetime (and take the photo to prove it), but they can be an invaluable way to quickly improve your technical skills or introduce you to a new area or country, allowing you to quickly fish independently.

There are a wealth of guides to choose from and the two most popular regions are the central areas of the North Island and the South Island, but all areas (barring Northland) contain good trout fishing rivers. 

Lots of different options also exist, from well located self-catering accomodation to luxury accommodation and helicopter access with a guide.
